I am the proud gramma of a beautiful 10-year- old girl named Hailee. Her Pappa and I started this site so she can follow us as we travel throughout different states on our vacations. Now that she is older and we are able to travel the country with her, this will be a site for all of our friends and family to join us on our adventures throughout the USA

DAY 1 WEST VIRGINIA

Hi Everyone
At midnight we started our journey for our six-state road trip. At 4am we pulled over in Boontown, NJ for a little break and nap. Thanks Matt for the tinted window cling-ons -- they worked great!! We had a very nice, peaceful rest. At 9:15 am a butterfly flew into our truck. It was a nice feeling that my mom was with us on this trip. (Hailee, maybe it was the butterfly from your cocoon)

Gas is cheep here; $3.27/gl. We crossed the Mason-Dixon line which was a line between Pennsylvania and Maryland to divide the free and slave states before the war between the states.
We went through Sideling Hill which is a 350 million year old mountain in Maryland that was blasted to make a six-lane highway. The first car went through in August, 1985. We ate dinner at a gourmet restaurant in W.V. called Blossom Dairy.
Well, going to sit in the jacuzzi and go to bed.
