I am the proud gramma of a beautiful 10-year- old girl named Hailee. Her Pappa and I started this site so she can follow us as we travel throughout different states on our vacations. Now that she is older and we are able to travel the country with her, this will be a site for all of our friends and family to join us on our adventures throughout the USA

DAY 4 INDIANA & OHIO

Today we headed for Indiana and Ohio. Our first stop was at Deam Lake in Indiana to find some beach sand for Hailee. She gave us a list of items to find for her on our trip. Beach sand was one of the items on the list. Deam Lake was beautiful, I could have stayed there all day.

Next we stopped at Huber Winery also in Indiana. It was a great winery. Carl was in his glory! We had a wine tasting and then bought some of their great wine. We were concerned about bringing the wine into Canada because of the customs. I had a great idea to have all the wine shipped to our NY hotel (they couldn't ship to RI). The winery shipped all the wine we purchased at their winery PLUS all the bottles we bought from other wineries. All of our wine will arrive in Auburn, NY on Thursday.

We ate lunch at the Mug N Bun drive-in. It was fun. We turned on our lights and they came out to our truck to get our order. Our lunch was brought out on a tray and hooked onto our window. It was just like the A&W root beer drive In's from long ago. We drove to the Indy 500 Motor Speedway and then continued on to Ohio. We arrived at our hotel at 9:45 PM. After a quick swim and jacuzzi, we got ready for bed. Carl is already asleep and I am going now. We have to wake up early to get a head start for Niagara Falls tomorrow.

Our plans have changed for tomorrow. We decided not to stop at the Henry Ford Museum just outside of Detroit, MI. We have been warned by several people who know about Michigan that Detroit is not a safe area. Even though the museum is well worth seeing, we have been told to be very very careful of the area, especially because we are tourists with money. We decided not to take any chances, so we will just drive straight to Niagara Falls. Talk to you tomorrow. Good night.

Definitely you want to be cautious and avoid areas of trouble. Listen to those who you can trust.
Be safe and enjoy day 5
